For several years, RMHF has worked to increase our support of the social determinants of health. We understand that housing stability and healthy built environments are key factors in determining health equity for low-wealth individuals and families. In accordance with our values and goals as an organization, we aim to dismantle structural barriers to stable affordable housing by funding organizations and programs that address discrimination in areas of housing access, mobility and stability.
The RMHF Trustees recently approved five Built Environment grant applications, totaling $290,000. This will be the second year of funding for these partner organizations, who are positively and effectively impacting health equity in the Richmond community through access to stable and healthy housing.
