Lisa Bender is the Learning Officer and Grants Manager at Richmond Memorial Health Foundation. In this role, she is responsible for learning efforts with grantee partners and other key stakeholders as well as the administrative management of grantmaking activities.
Lisa joined RMHF 10 years ago because she was drawn to working for an organization that was committed to improving the health and wellbeing of underserved community members in the Richmond region. She is inspired by RMHF’s dedicated nonprofit partners in the region who share a commitment to advocating for these communities and who work tirelessly to advance racial equity and health.
Prior to RMHF, Lisa worked in hospital administration in several different positions ranging from administrative resident to interim assistant administrator. She also has experience working in the mental health field, in both direct care and administrative management.
Lisa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Health Administration degree from Indiana University at Indianapolis. When Lisa isn’t working, she loves to read mysteries, play word games and spend time with friends.
