Capacity Building
Capacity-building grants empower organizations to develop their internal capacity to become more sustainable and effective over the long term. RMHF is awarding $1,500-$15,000 grants on a rolling basis to mission-aligned nonprofits.

Recent years have brought unexpected challenges and opportunities requiring quick organizational responses. Opportunity investments provide time-sensitive support for mission-aligned organizations through grants of $1,500 to $7,500, awarded on a rolling basis.

Based on our own mission of “fostering an equitable and healthy Richmond region,” the core work of mission-aligned organizations:
Advances health and racial equity.
Embodies an understanding of the social determinants of health.
Impacts those most affected by inequities.
In addition, we will give priority to organizations that show evidence of internal work at the Board and staff levels to advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
